<p>WhenRosaisexpectedtohandherbossthesuntanlotiononadeerhunt,thisfeelslikeasign.DonReynaldo’sranchisabouttocelebrateitsfarmanniversary,butthispassionatehunter’simageisbuiltonalie.Andso,hereinthecountryside,wheremenaremen,employeesaregratefulsubjectsandwomendiligentlyanddocilelyholditalltogether,cracksbegintoappearinthesociallifeofthismicrocosm.Orderedarounddayinanddayout,unnoticedbythoseinherclass-conscioussurroundings,themenialRosagraduallybecomesanagentofchange.WhileDonReynaldo’sextendedfamilycontortsitselfinabidtosavetheoldorder,menbegintoarriveatthefarminpickuptrucks.Theirappearanceatthefeastandathreatareenoughtomaketheageingpatriarchfearforhislifeandhisfamily–andforcehimtoact.Allthatpassesisobservedbytheanimalswho,eitherastrophiesonthewalloraslivestockouttopasture,seemtosensetheendofanoldhegemony.Withakeensenseofhowtodeployomensthatheraldchange,AlejandraMárquezAbellaportraysanepochalshiftinruralMexico–asseenbycharacterswhoareusuallyrelegatedtopassivesupportingroles.</p>
